Digital Media and Marketing Faculty Member Highlights the Struggle Between Social and Print Media in a Scientific Panel
As part of the ongoing academic and scientific activities of our faculty, Dr. Adalat Abdullah, a lecturer in the Department of Digital Media and Marketing, participated in a special panel discussion held this morning at the "Kurdistani Nwe" Salon. The event was organized to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the founding of Kurdistani Nwe newspaper.
The panel, titled "Social Media, Print Media, and the Experience of Kurdistani Nwe," provided a platform for Dr. Adalat Abdullah to offer an in-depth analysis of the fundamental shifts currently reshaping the global media landscape.
During the first segment of his presentation, Dr. Adalat addressed the "Impact of the Emergence of the Printing Press on Media." He provided the audience with a historical overview of how the invention of the printing press triggered a major revolution in the dissemination of information and knowledge.
In the second part of the discussion, Dr. Adalat highlighted the overwhelming momentum of modern media, stating: "Digital media is emerging as a giant behemoth that is swallowing traditional media." He emphasized the immense challenges currently facing print journalism as it struggles to maintain its relevance against the dominance of social media and digital platforms.
The panel was attended by a significant number of journalists, academics, and intellectuals. It served as a vital opportunity to evaluate the 35-year legacy of Kurdistani Nwe and to discuss how Kurdish media can adapt to the rapid changes of the digital age and modern marketing trends.
