This module will advance the skills and competence of students who will engage in one or all forms of journalistic work at all levels of media and across all platforms. By discussing the current issues related to journalism profession, students will understand the science of media ethics and its importance.
DMM119 - WRITING FOR THE MEDIA
This module will help students to understand the media genres and help them to improve their writing skills in journalism. They can produce sophisticated pieces of journalism for different media platforms.
DMM1110 - COMPUTER APPLICATION
This module will introduce students with current useful computer software such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
DMM1111 - ACADEMIC DEBATE
This course is designed to develop students’ skills in academic thinking, communication, argumentation and debate. The topics of this course train students to think critically, to be creative, communicative, and a qualified individual who respects others’ points of view and leads academic arguments as well.
DMM120 - GRAPHIC DESIGN
The aim of this module is to make students utilize knowledge gained to design and develop media artefacts with a high quality of layout and graphic design features. Conceive, create and deliver a range of layout and graphic design media products to a high standard, demonstrating a capacity for critical evaluation and professional competence.
DMM121 - ENGLISH SKILLS
The aim of this module is to give opportunity for students to develop their skills and abilities throughout their learning process. Also, students will learn the basics of grammar and how to use them in their daily lives. The module will introduce students to the key media and communication English terms and phrases.
DMM122 - KURDOLOGY
This module provides a comprehensive overview of Kurdish studies, covering language, history, literature, and culture. For students of digital media, this course offers a crucial foundation for creating culturally relevant and historically informed content for local audiences. Topics will include the development of the Kurdish language, major historical events, and the role of media in shaping Kurdish identity.
DMM123 - MARKETING IN THE DIGITAL AGE
This module introduces students to the fundamental principles of marketing as they are applied in the contemporary digital landscape. It explores the shift from traditional marketing to a digital-first approach, covering core concepts such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, content strategy, and digital advertising. Students will learn to develop, execute, and measure integrated digital marketing campaigns.
DMM124 - MULTIMEDIA JOURNALISM
This module will give students a clear understanding of working across multiple media platforms and guide them to create video, audio, text and pictures to publish in different media platforms such as, print, radio, television outlets and digital platforms. The primary objective of the Media Production module is to provide students with both the theoretical and the technical training necessary to produce program material for both broadcast and non-broadcast media such as film and advertising industries.

In this module students of digital media are encouraged to have a comprehensive understanding of PR and its importance in the fields of journalism. In addition, students will be involved in how PR promotes their future work weather it’s an organization, media agency or company.
DMM241 - MOTION GRAPHICS
This practical module introduces students to the principles and techniques of motion graphics, the art of bringing graphic design to life with animation and visual effects. Students will learn how to create dynamic visual content for various media, including broadcast television, online videos, advertising, and user interfaces. The course will cover foundational animation principles, kinetic typography, and the use of industry-standard software (such as Adobe After Effects) to produce professional-quality motion graphics projects.
DMM242 - SALES MANAGEMENT
This module provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of sales management, with a specific focus on the media and digital marketing industry. Topics include developing effective sales strategies, managing sales teams, understanding customer relationship management (CRM), and mastering negotiation techniques. Students will learn how to sell advertising space, digital services, and sponsorships, equipping them for roles in media revenue generation.
DMM243 - MARKETING CONTENT PRODUCTION

DMM245 - SUMMER TRAINING
The Summer Training module is a mandatory practical component of the program designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. Students are required to undertake an internship at a recognized media organization or a relevant company. This hands-on experience allows students to apply their skills in a real-world environment, build a professional portfolio, and develop industry contacts before graduation.
